Isabel Barreras has served in many capacities for community college and other educational organizations, including serving on the California Community Colleges Board of Governors. She currently serves as the Program Manager for the California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Her additional leadership positions have included membership on the Board of Trustees for the State Center Community College District, Executive Director of the Madera Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and first Vice President of the California Community College Trustee Association. Barreras was recently inducted into the 2013 Arte Americas Muro De Honor, acknowledging her dedicated support, personal contributions, and extensive collaboration with other organizations to bring a new awareness of Latino arts and culture.
Barreras was also the 2006 Board President of the State Center Community College District Board of Trustees, Past President of the California Association of Latino Community College Trustees and a member of the Diversity Committee of the Association of Community College Trustees.
Barreras received her M.P.A. from National University in San Diego, and her B.A. from California State University (CSU) Fresno.
