These Microsoft Media Ordering Policies apply ONLY to Microsoft media (CD-ROM) distributed by FCCC for faculty and staff work-at-home rights under the Microsoft Campus Agreement. These policies do NOT apply to media from the Student Select program or other media or to other products distributed by FCCC or by Microsoft resellers.
Purchases from any vendor under any FCCC program are transactions between the customer and the vendor. Those transactions are governed by the vendor’s privacy and ordering policies, not by these Microsoft Media Ordering Policies.
Privacy Policies
Please see the full FCCC Privacy Policy.
The college or university, the lead entity of a Campus Agreement, and Microsoft have access to the information gathered from Microsoft media customers to meet the legal obligations of the Campus Agreement. FCCC will not release the information gathered during the Microsoft media ordering process to any other third party, including vendors in FCCC’s Collegebuys or other programs, unless we are required to do so by law.
FCCC will use the information to process the media order and to notify recipients of the media of changes in the license status or provisions. FCCC may also occasionally use the e-mail addresses of customers ordering Microsoft media to inform those customers of other products or services available to them via FCCC.
Shipping Policies
Microsoft media orders will be shipped via United Parcel Service (UPS). The standard shipping will be UPS ground, but customers may choose to pay extra for UPS 3-day, UPS second-day air, or UPS next-day air. The standard shipping and handling fees and the optional fees are clearly indicated on the Microsoft media order forms. The ship-to address must NOT be a post office box— UPS will not deliver to a Post Office Box under any circumstances– again this is clearly indicated on the form.
Customers will be sent an automated e-mail message with the scheduled delivery date, a UPS tracking number and reference numbers for their order, and the URLs at which their order can be tracked. The subject line of the automated e-mail will be “UPS Ship Notification, [tracking number]” and it will be sent from “auto-notify@ups.com.” Customers should retain the tracking and reference numbers and the URLs until the order is received. If you do not receive this email, please check your "SPAM" or "Junk" folder as the message can be filtered from your Inbox.
Guarantees and Liability
All Microsoft media (CD ROMs) distributed by FCCC is fully guaranteed and defective disks are replaced at no charge if the customer contacts FCCC within 30 days of delivery (see Return Policy below).
Please backup important files before installing any programs and please make sure that you have a backup of your Operating System (such as boot disk or recovery disk). Microsoft provides the system requirements for its software and FCCC reiterates the system requirements in its Answer Center. Customers should check the system requirements and ensure that their computer system meets those requirements before installing software programs. Still, there are occasional problems when installing media or on computers incompatible with the media. FCCC’s liability is limited to providing the media only. FCCC is not responsible for lost data, damage to customers’ setup, or damage to customers’ hardware. FCCC’s responsibility is limited to replacing defective disks and helping as best it can with any problems in media installation. By proceeding to install the Microsoft media from FCCC, you are agreeing to these terms of liability.
