Improving Grades. Improving Lives.

In California, only 57 percent of elementary and middle school students have tested proficient in English language arts, and only 58 percent are proficient in math. The numbers decrease once students reach high school, to 56 percent in English language arts and 55 percent in math. The Apple Corps Tutoring program was created by the Foundation for California Community Colleges in 2010 to address this skills gap by providing personal tutoring services to students in grades 3-12. The Foundation was approved by the California Department of Education to provide services in 4 Sacramento school districts and 16 districts in the Los Angeles area.

Apple Corps Tutoring combined one-on-one attention with proven learning methods to empower students to achieve their best in school. Qualified tutors worked one-on-one with students in their homes or other convenient locations. The Apple Corps digital curriculum in English language arts and math provided instant feedback, helping students identify reach full understanding in the subject matter. Tutors were also able to produce regular and real-time reports for parents and caregivers to monitor student progress.
