  Melissa Conner

Melissa Conner

As Vice President of Advancement, Melissa Conner is responsible for leading the Foundation’s Advancement team, overseeing the organization’s resource development, grant writing, marketing and communications, and external relations efforts, as well the Foundation’s fiscally sponsored programs. Conner has over 12 years of experience and proven results in guiding communications and advancement for public, private, and non-profit entities.

Conner joined the Foundation in 2006 to oversee the organization’s marketing and communications strategies and initiatives. Under Conner’s direction, the marketing and communications team has been recognized with over 40 awards at the state, regional, and national level for excellence in marketing, communications, and design. Prior to her work with the Foundation, Conner was the Director of Admissions for the Los Angeles Film School, and also taught English at the university and high school level for over six years.

Conner holds a master’s degree in English from the University of California, Davis, where she has completed coursework for her doctorate, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia, where she graduated Honors Program, Summa cum Laude, and Phi Beta Kappa.

  Nancy Pryor
External Affairs Manager
 
 
 

Nancy Pryor serves as the External Affairs Manager for the Foundation for California Community Colleges where she is responsible for building coalitions among diverse stakeholders to benefit, support and enhance the California Community College system.

Nancy is the primary liaison to the Network of California Community College Foundations and oversees the Chancellor’s Circle program, which furthers partnerships between private industry and the largest higher education system in the nation.

Nancy joined the Foundation in October 2013 and previously managed the Marketing and Communications department at the Folsom Chamber of Commerce where she developed and executed tourism and economic development initiatives to attract events and companies to Folsom.   

She’s managed relationships with multiple boards, working with emerging leaders and established executives to share best practices and advance common causes.

Nancy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Point Loma Nazarene University, where she spent a semester studying International Relations in Amman, Jordan, inspired by Arabic language classes she took at community college.
