2011 Hayward Award Recipients Honored

SACRAMENTO, Calif.—March 9, 2012—Foundation President and CEO Keetha Mills (far left) joined statewide leadership and the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges (ASCCC) in presenting the 2011 Hayward Awards for Excellence in Education at the March 2012 California Community Colleges Board of Governors meeting.
The Hayward Awards were established in 1989 to honor community college faculty members who demonstrate the highest level of commitment to their students, colleges and profession. The Foundation is a proud long-time supporter of the Hayward Awards, which provide a $1,250 grant to each recipient. Recipients must be nominated by their college academic senates and selected by representatives of the ASCCC, must have a record of outstanding performance of professional activities, a demonstrated history of active involvement on their campuses.
The 2011 Hayward Award recipients are Robert Boyd, philosophy instructor at Fresno City College, Dorothy Williams, an Academic Skills Learning Specialist at Antelope Valley College, and Jaima Bennett, a communications instructor at Golden West College.
