SACRAMENTO, Calif. – May 13, 2013 – Greg Thomas, who leads the Foundation for California Community Colleges’ Workforce Development Initiatives, was elected to serve a two-year term on the California Internship and Work Experience Association (CIWEA) Board of Directors, joining a prestigious group of educators and employers devoted to higher education. Founded in 1974, the CIWEA is California’s leading professional association dedicated to integrating classroom learning with real-world work experience and developing college-level internship and work experience programs for students.
Thomas, the Foundation’s Human Resources Director, spearheads the Foundation’s efforts to create career training and professional development opportunities for college students throughout the state, such as the Career Pathway student internship program.
Other newly elected members to the CIWEA Board of Directors include: Carol Bernardo, Cosumnes River College; Paula Conrad, St. Mary's College of California; Bryant Fairley, CSU San Bernardino; Dawn Finley, Cal Poly Pomona; and Brianne Wada, University of Southern California.
