Message from the Chancellor

It is a great pleasure to serve as Chancellor of the California Community Colleges, the largest system of higher education in the nation. Our colleges provide opportunity to millions of Californians each year seeking access to workforce training, transfer education, professional development, and lifelong learning. Our 112 colleges serve every community in our state and play a vital role in the California economy.
During these difficult economic times, it is critical that education institutions partner with the business sector in creative and broad-ranging ways to provide opportunity for students and employers alike. The Chancellor’s Circle offers business partners the chance to develop meaningful relationships with leaders throughout our system. This is done through a variety of events and communications, leading to enhanced business opportunities for our members. In turn, those members offer us the ability to afford special programs and services for California Community College students that we otherwise would be unable to provide.
With an annual tax-deductible contribution, Chancellor’s Circle members receive benefits such as a special invitation to a series of luncheons held at Community College campuses throughout the state with the Chancellor and other California Community College leaders; periodic email alerts with newsworthy items such as the passing of community college bond measures, new colleges introduced into the system, and RFPs open for submission; a company’s presence on the Foundation for California Community Colleges’ website; and more.
As we weather the storm of the current economic crisis and face challenges as a state and as a nation, we must all work together to provide opportunity to our students, value to our business partners, and benefit to the communities we serve. I look forward to working with the Chancellor’s Circle members in the coming year. Thank you very much for your support!
Sincerely,
Chancellor Jack ScottCalifornia Community Colleges
