CCPS helps increase Bay Area nursing student enrollment

According to an independent study recently completed, the Centralized Clinical Placement System has helped spur a 47 percent increase in Bay Area nursing student enrollment over the past five years.

The NRC features two primary Internet-based tools: the Centralized Clinical Placement System (CCPS) and the Centralized Faculty Resource Center (CFRC):

 

The Centralized Clinical Placement System (CCPS) streamlines the clinical experience scheduling process and exposes untapped openings, allowing programs to increase enrollment.

The Centralized Clinical Placement System and Centralized Faculty Resource Center were designed by the Foundation in partnership with the California Institute for Nursing & Health Care (CINHC), funded through a grant from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation. The NRC was piloted in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2004, and has since expanded to Los Angeles and Bakerseld, California; South Florida; Cincinnati, Ohio; and Houston-Galveston and Corpus Christi, Texas.

 The Los Angeles Nursing Resource Center, launched in 2007, processed 133 clinical courses in the most recent placement cycle with 1,052 cohort groups and 3,861 RN students placed across all courses for the Spring/Summer 2009 period.
