Over the past decade, we have contributed over 50 percent of our net operating revenue, more than $2 million, to the California Community College system. We sponsor all major statewide awards given by the California Community Colleges Board of Governors and Academic Senate, as well as a variety of other awards. We also provide staff development training and technology support, including website development and hosting services. Each year, we have increased our direct support to the system; last year alone we donated over half a million dollars.

The Foundation remains committed to developing and attracting additional philanthropic support for the system. We are also the major source of funding for the Network of California Community College Foundations, which provides leadership, training, and networking to support the resource development capabilities of local college foundations.

For the past ten years, the Foundation has provided specialized services that support students, while helping colleges operate more effectively and efficiently. Since its inception in 1998, the Foundation has provided savings and direct support to the Colleges of over $100 million.

As we move into our second decade of service, we are committed to raising public awareness of the value of Community Colleges, increasing the ability of Community College foundations to raise much-need funds, and continuing to provide beneficial services, comprehensive support, and significant cost savings to our students, colleges, and the System Office.

On May 6, 2008, the Foundation began a statewide fundraising campaign to create the California Community Colleges Scholarship Endowment, a $100 million fund to support student success and opportunity. 
 

The campaign was launched by a $25 million gift and an additional $25 million matching commitment from the Bernard Osher Foundation.
